The one key area Labor have been able to foster this time around that they were unable to do in the past is to create a believable amount of financial hysteria in the public.
Labor have run the line that people have never had it so bad. They have been able to create a psychosis in the public psyche that has led to mass hysteria over impending financial doom. Home ownership has never been so out of reach, wages have never been so low and workers are spending longer hours at work when the opposite is true.
In fact the mid-year figures released by the ABS showed that people on AWA’s were up to 12% better off than those on an award. The ABS and ACOS also released figures showing that Australian’s have never worked fewer hours than they do today.

When I bought my first home it was, at the time, the average 1st home owners home. It was a 13 square 3 bedroom brick and tile home without a garage and no landscaping. In contrast, todays first home buyers will settle for nothing less than a 25 square 4 bedroom brick-rendered home with study or rumpus room. A Double lock-up garage, $20,000 designer kitchen with marble or granite benchtops, ducted air conditioning, pool/spa with Bali Hut and fully landscaped on a well to do location. Topped off with either a brand new v8 Holden Maloo ute or a new 4 wheel drive just to pull either their new boat or jet-ski. As I’ve always said, you can’t legislate against stupidity. These idots hould have been wise and bought within their means. Now if Labor get in and the inevitable happens, interest rates will rise, employment will drop, inflation will rise and once again we will have witnessed a generation of Australians destroyed financially. Sounds like Hawke and Keating have moved to centre stage.

I was looking through a magazine that was delivered yesterday and came across this pearl of wisdom from William Shakespeare and immediately thought how appropriate the advice is to people thinking of voting Labor next Saturday.

“Trust not to rotten planks, indeed, before stepping onto the wooden planks of a boat, you would want to be sure that the wood was not rotten”.

Surely that applies to the Labor Party and all their corrupt members/now ex-members, including those charged with child abuse.

Well if these poor people who have overcommitted themselves and think that Labor will fix their febts for them they deserve the Govt they get if they vote for Labor.Frankly I do not see a lot in the whole thing except money being hrown at the publis to win votes.For self funded retirees who have worked hard and lived within their means Liberals will give us little however Labor will stuff up the economy.We will profit when the interest rates rise.Anf there will be alot of cheap properties on the market.

Ginger I also noticed that add. I wish I could have the appliances that lady has in her kitchen. If Labor win there could be alot of cheap applainces being sold off. Plazma TV Stainless Steel appliances, Latest model cars. So you see It does not really worry me who wins just get the bloody farce over with.

The Politicians should keep their bribes in the bank and build us hospitals more doctors and nurses and Aged Care facilities.

Our Member Greg Hunt looks safe, he is over 12,000 in front before preferences. The Labor Party got about 98% of Greens preferences.

Dooker or whatever you call yourself, you appear to be an example of the classic foul mouthed, pidgeon brained fool that makes up the political left in OZ. I was wrong, I thought that the Libs would win, even taking their faults into account. I did not call the voters idiots I do not know why they voted as they did but the decision has been made. Unfortunately the Labor win gives dills like you succour, please control your passions. As John Ray points out the defining difference between left and right is that the right looks for evidence where the left just ‘feels’ that something is right or wrong. From now on look for the reasons why things happen instead of relying on your feelings.
