OK, so I have been slack blogging lately. I think it’s a general sort of apathy when it comes to reading the news this last month or so. One time I used to read the news and something would rile me enough to write about, but now the news elicits little more than a forlorn shaking of the head.
In fact, I have considered giving up blogging on this site altogether. It began as a place for me to “unload”. Nothing to “unload” nothing to post.
For example, take this collection of assorted health Nazis, morons, fools and all round idiots and you tell me if you feel more than a forlorn head shake coming on.
First this gaggle of tossers,
VEGEMITE, blue cheese and traditional jams and preserves could be forced off grocery shelves if a government taskforce wins Canberra’s support for new limits on salt, fat and sugar content.
The health Nazis. Of course there is no danger of this actually happening, none what so ever. It may be a case of “ask for 100 accept 10″, more likely though what it really signifies is yet another total waste of taxpayer money spent on trying to control what you eat.
Second, these tossers
Outspoken animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is using the “sea kitten” name as part of its push to restrict fishing.
“Nobody would hurt a sea kitten!” the group says on its website.
“People don’t seem to like fish.
“We’re going to start by retiring the old name for good.
“When your name can also be used as a verb that means driving a hook through your head, it’s time for a serious image makeover.”
These idiots want to rename fish “sea kittens”. I suspect this is so they can brainwash kids into not eating them….or something.
Third, the fools
A HUGE drop in light beer sales has been blamed for the surge in street violence.
Pressure to scrap the tax on light beer is building as more drinkers turn to stronger booze.
Light beer sales have fallen 15 per cent in seven years, while street crime has soared 43 per cent.
VicHealth chief executive Todd Harper said there was a definite connection between the move away from light beer and the rise in drunken violence.
“I definitely think the move to heavier beer is part of the problem,” he said.
Mr Harper said scrapping the tax on light beer would help reduce the blood-letting on Melbourne streets.
Todd Harper saying there is a definite connection because he definitely thinks there is one, funnily enough does not make it so.
What this clown actually wants and is attempting to obtain by stealth, is a higher tax on heavy beer. You know, the same tactic as increasing the tax on alcopops by 70% was going to stop the violence and binge drinking.
The alleged “pressure to scrap tax” on light beer amounts to a whopping 4 cents a pot at the bar.
The excise cut would see light beer drop 20c a stubby, or $4.80 a slab, and about 4c a pot in bars.
So lets see…..a person goes out on the town and drinks a truck load of beer….lets say 50 pots of heavy beer (HA HA HA), trying to force him to drink light pots by cutting the tax on said pots by 4 cents will save him over the course of the night…ummmm $2.00.
That’ll fix it!
News flash!…A huge rise in the occurrence of meddling life interfering nobodies with too much power has been blamed for an increase in violent behavior. News reader and beer drinker Paddy definitely thinks there is a definite connection between the massive increase of government sponsored nannies and rebellious street violence.
Last but not least, the animal police…
BRITAIN’S Prince Edward has escaped prosecution for allegedly beating a dog, after an animal welfare group said on Friday there was insufficient evidence to charge him.
Edward, 44, the youngest child of Queen Elizabeth II, was pictured in newspapers last month waving a 1.2-metre stick at two quarrelling gundogs – first with the stick in the air, then very close to one of the dogs’ heads.
Much better of course, to let the two dogs rip each other apart.
Is it any wonder I can’t be bothered any more?
