All things come to pass..

   Posted by: Patrick   in Scott

Sometimes opening your email can be like a lucky dip. You hope there is something, other than spam, that connects you with friends or something else of import.
Unfortunately today I opened an email I never anticipated I would receive.
Mike Jericho is leaving the world of Blog.
It was Mike Jericho that gave me my first official posting, he also gave me first posting on his ‘The Fall’ for which I am truly grateful. Mike is one of the ‘Good Guys’; he ran a truly great blog that despite outside influences to cripple him he was able to get the message out. Mike is a man who can more than hold his own when it comes to world issues, be they politics, religion, or whatever and has on more than one occasion shot down in flames ‘would-be’ trouble makers who commented outside their realms of knowledge.
Mike is also a budding writer with two books in the winds, and forgive me Mike if the names aren’t quite spot on, The Dante Prophecy and the other is about crows or Ravens. He’ll see the humour in it no doubt. Besides, his family tree stems from my part of the world, Gundagai. I’m still awaiting my draft copies for proof reading Mike!!!
His site now, as it stands, is called A Western Heart and will now be under the control of James Ozark, who is another fantastic contributor to the Blogsphere and no doubt will keep the tradition of what is one of the blogs greatest alive.
Mike’s reasons for leaving the ‘sphere’ are to pursue his writing, for which we should all be grateful. Rarely in our life can we claim to know some great literary guru’s but I have been very fortunate in knowing Mike Jericho and our own Felis. No offence to the rest of us.
Farewell Mike and please don’t be a stranger and if the call is too great, feel free to drop by and post again.
From all here at the Observation Deck, all the best Mike.

Yeah sorry Paddy. I have received all his well wishers emails as well, I guess you would have too.
Mike is a great guy, but I’d wager once he at least gets The Dante Prophecy released that he may return. I hope so anyway.
P.S. I like Mr Faris’s new blog.

Mike made sure the site is well looked after.
There is a lot of talent there.

Yes I think Mikes self imposed exile from the blogging community will be short lived myself.
I’m glad you like the Faris blog. There may be some more on the way.

Thanks guys for the wonderful tribute.
I’d like to think that I’d return to blogging, but I very much doubt it. I’ve said my piece, made some good friends, and that’s enough.
All the best to you.
