The Court Jester

   Posted by: Patrick   in Patrick

Years ago during the middle ages, who do you think was the most sought after person for comment in the Kingdom? Was it the Knight who single handily destroyed the oncoming army? Was it the King himself who was sought after for comment in issues of the day? No. It was the court jester who was repeatedly sought for his witty, wily and humorous interpretations of the daily news.

The court jester was simply the most popular being in the Kings court, even though his reputation as the village idiot precluded him from marrying royalty. All the scribes of all the other kingdoms used to closely follow what all the court jesters of all the other kingdoms were saying so they could repeat the news to the masses not fortunate enough to be present in the Kings courtyard at the time. The more outrages, the more sublimely stupid and nonsensical the jester’s mumblings were, the more publicity he received from the scribes of the day.

Its surprising how little has actually changed in the last several hundred years or so in this regard. Today in place of a court jester we have Bob Brown. Oh make no mistake, he is every bit as foolish and sublimely stupid as the jesters of old, and the scribes are every bit as keen on repeating his mumblings to the masses. The subtle difference is that over the years the jester has evolved to believe himself to be a person of great influence, and the scribes have swallowed his delusions.

The scribes will repeat every word and lovingly present them as if they come from the kingdoms most scholarly intellects.

Much like the story of the Emperors new clothes, even a simpleton or a child can see the folly of this falsely elevated fool. However so ingrained is this perception that the village idiot speaks the words of wisdom in the eyes of the scribes, that they are yet to have the mythical veil removed from their worshipful eyes.
When the veil is in fact removed, they will see not a wise bearded scholar peering sagely upon them, nay they will see only the village idiot grinning manically and dribbling saliva from the corner of his overworked mouth.

How could this happen they will ask? How could so many people worship and idolise this fool? How were we misled into believing this idiot spoke words of wisdom? How were we led into presenting him as sage and persuading the masses of his intellectual worth?

The masses for generations to come, will no doubt ask the same thing.

It’s the offering of a ‘Heavenly blessed utopiaian world’ the likes of Brown espouse that entangles the gullible and naive.

The promisses of a world covered in massive prehistoric foilage where chainsaws don’t exist and life is paid for by the mythical ‘pot of gold’ at the end of the rainbow. Ambrosia bubbles from pools that are fed by crystaline waterfalls everywhere.

Everyone is at one with the trees and shares the harmony and vibrations of the earth.

People want to here it is possible and that someone mean and cruel is stopping it from happening.

Of course it’s all a crock of shit and the reality is we need to utilise natural resources to sustain life. Bob Brown is on a winner because no-one is game to threaten his stance on ‘nature’, thus he remains an enigma, just like the jesters.

He is most certainly a dangerous individual. He has the balls of an elephant to call the Family First party “extreme”. Moron.
