Olympics

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Yes, I am a dork. I like the Olympics. There, I said it. Out loud. You have anything to say about it? Huh? Yeah, I didn’t think so, punk. ;-)

Anyhoo, opening ceremony is February 10th. And another thing; my other favorite country, Italy, is hosting the Olympics.

GENERAL FACTS AND FIGURES

• 84 medals will be given over a period of 17 days.

• 2,500 athletes and 2,500 officials from 85 National Olympic Committees will be housed in 3 Olympic Villages: Torino, Bardonecchia and Sestriere.

• Seven sports will be presented: Biathlon, Bobsleigh, Curling, Ice Hockey, Luge, Skating, Skiing

• Eight competition sites: Bardonecchia, Pinerolo, Pragelato, Cesana-Pariol, Cesana-San Sicario, Sauze d’Oulx, Sestriere, Torino, joined by 2 training centres at: Claviere and Torre Pellice

• 650 judges and referees will participate in the Games.

• 10,000 journalists and media operators are expected to cover the Games.

And then we have the Super Bowl. Who is playing again? Just kidding, I’ll be watching. Have been invited to watch it with some friends. I’m going for the Steelers. But don’t tell my hostesses that I am cheering for the Steelers, they might kick me out and quite frankly I have had my fill of being kicked out of places. ;-)

In the meantime, I thought I’d share some stuff I found while surfing and goofing. Chiff.com has some great linkage for all things Super Bowl. I especially like this site because they have the lineup for the commercials. And isn’t that the real reason you watch the Super Bowl? That, and to see who’s going to flash some flesh this year during the half-time show. Oh wait, never mind.

Do you have any cool finds regarding the Olympics or the Super Bowl? Please be nice and share. Use the comment section or shoot me an email. Anyone blogging either of these events? Well, maybe not the Super Bowl but is anyone going to blog the Olympics? If so, give me a shout and we can do some cross-posting and trackbacking.

It might be an improvment over Janets “wardrobe malfunction” Boz.
